2019 IESO Electricity Summit
We participated in the IESO's 2019 Electricity Summit on June 17, 2019 to learn more about the future of Ontario's energy grid and how to prepare for challenges and opportunities. One major topic was the IESO’S recent work towards removing barriers to energy storage; discussion surrounded the potential for integration of storage to increase reliability and efficiency in the energy market. As demonstrated in case studies on Australia, Hawaii, and Germany, the adoption of storage has been encouraged to help manage the problem with system variability associated with clean energy incentives and policies.
