Overview

We’re currently looking for a Trading Intern who will support the trading team in analyzing electricity markets, monitoring market conditions, and contributing to data-driven trading decisions. This role provides hands-on exposure to real-time energy markets and trading strategies, with a strong emphasis on analytical thinking and project-based learning.

What You Will Do

  • Assisting in monitoring electricity markets, including pricing, demand, and supply trends
  • Supporting analysis of market data to identify patterns, anomalies, and trading opportunities
  • Working on project-based assignments related to market research, pricing analysis, or trading strategy development
  • Assisting in building and maintaining analytical models and spreadsheets
  • Collecting and organizing data from internal systems and external market sources
  • Supporting the preparation of reports and summaries for the trading team
  • Collaborating with traders and analysts to support day-to-day trading activities
  • Documenting processes, methodologies, and project findings

What You Will Bring:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data analysis tools is an asset
  • Interest in energy markets, trading, or financial markets
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to financial markets, trading concepts, or energy markets
  • Experience with programming or data tools (e.g., Python, SQL, VBA)
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis or modelling techniques

Work Environment:
